The Institut Mutualiste Montsouris optimises its patient journey

Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), 29 november 2021 - Institut Mutualiste Montsouris has recently installed ELECOM reception terminals, which are directly integrated into the Telemis PACS/MACS software. This project provides comfort and added value for everyone in the hospital, from reception to consultation.

Being installed in several departments (thoracic, cardiology, medical imaging), these terminals allow patients to insert their CDs containing their latest medical images. It is a simple and intuitive process, accessible to everyone. The exam retrieval terminal is connected and integrated into the Telemis PACS/ MACS, acquiring the patient images via an input module of the PACS/MACS.

With this principle, importing of CDs which is a time-consuming process becomes completely transparent for the consulting physicians. They can find the exams immediately in their regular environment, without any time wasted (waiting, loading or handling). The time saved (estimated at 5-10 min per appointment) and the ease of viewing, are highly appreciated by practitioners. In addition, a doctor wishing to store these exams permanently in the institutional PACS/MACS can request this with a single click. This eliminates the constant need to call ther radiologists or radiology technicians. Integration requests are therefore processed asynchronously by the imaging department via a queue.

With the installation of these terminals and their integration with various information systems in the facility, the patient flow is secured, automated, administered and also more intuitive bringing additional convenience to everyone involved.

Patrick Boloré, CIO of Institut Mutualiste Montsouris, highlights the excellent collaboration between staff from Elecom and the Telemis engineers who have contributed their expertise and creativity to the success of this project, obtaining an excellent result to the delight of doctors, patients and operators.
