Brand new version of Telemis’ PACS/MACS software facilitates better regional interoperability and augments identity assurance

Along with heightened user-friendliness, a greater breadth of features and accelerated functionality

Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), 16th November 2023  Telemis, the medical imaging and archiving specialist, continues to redefine the market through unceasing software innovations. The company has just announced the availability of its latest generation Picture/Multimedia Archiving and Communication System (PACS/MACS) software platform. Key focuses for Telemis-Medical version 4.97 are heightened interoperability and more effective identification capabilities. There are also major enhancements in relation to the user experiences derived.

In order to address the challenges of maintaining coherence when a patient is visiting multiple hospitals/clinics and support potential collaboration between these different sites, Telemis-Medical PACS/MACS version 4.97 integrates multi-identifier management.

Consequently, it is capable of managing any identifier that has been set up at a local, regional or national level. As part of the TM-Community imaging sharing network, this management of numerous patient identifiers allows automatic identity reconciliation when examination data is transferred from one location to another.

In collaboration with highly regarded cancer centers, Telemis has developed a lesion monitoring and tracking tool, which enables multiple monitoring procedures to be carried out on a single patient. Via this advance, it is thereby possible to compare the impact of different treatments or to monitor several pathologies simultaneously. Alongside this, there is scope for activating a private mode on the lesion tracker function - so blind evaluations can be conducted.

In terms of user-friendliness, this latest PACS/MACS release is considerably faster and more intuitive as well. It offers protocols to automate the display of historical data when reading standard X-ray studies, a quicker operating anatomical comparison algorithm for thoracic scanning, plus an advanced co-registration algorithm for brain or CT-MRI comparison work.

According to Stephane Ketelaer, CEO and co-founder of Telemis: "One of the main reasons for the popularity of our PACS/MACS software platform is that it doesn’t remain static - it keeps on constantly evolving. By compiling customer feedback, then applying the ingenuity of our engineering team, we are able to keep pace with clinicians’ rising expectations and provide them with fully optimized solutions.”

Deployment of Telemis-Medical PACS/MACS version 4.97 will soon be underway at various customer sites.
