Created as a start-up by the UCL University in Belgium, Telemis still maintains a close R&D collaboration with its Telecommunications and Remote Sensing Laboratory. This laboratory specializes in image processing and compression, distributed applications and security infrastructure. The Laboratory also takes part in the development of international norms and standards (MPEG, IETF).

Thanks to this privileged collaboration, Telemis can benefit from the latest scientific progress in terms of image compression algorithms and integrate them into its PACS.
