Very high availability of images

Medical imaging is a crucial matter in most hospitals. Image management software proposed by Telemis must ensure a very high level of availability for the users. Different mechanisms guarantying this software availability have been implemented in the Telemis-Medical solution. These are used in the medical image management project at the clinique Notre-Dame de Tournai.

In addition to the main server, a backup server (with a smaller capacity) is installed in the hospital. Every image that arrives on the main server is also available on this backup server. In case the first server is not available, each client software automatically connects to the second server. When the main server is back in operation, the secondary server automatically forwards the missing information.

Proactively, the "server" applications (TM-Server) and the image acquisition applications (TM-AutoAcquisition) regularly send an e-mail to the support centre of Telemis. The real-time analysis of the information contained into these e-mails gives a permanent diagnosis on the status of the Telemis applications.

If a problem is detected or seems to be about to occur, these same applications TM-Server and TM-AutoAcquisition immediately send an e-mail to the support centre.

The support centre of Telemis can connect remotely (via modem or VPN) to the image management systems. This reduces the travel time for most of the interventions to zero.
