The TM-Server is the software that manages the documents/messages and all the mailboxes (TM-PIM) attached to a hospital or to one of its departments. The application also deals with the user profiles and identification keys.

The TM-Server has two main tasks. The first one is, for a user having an account on a specific server, to post his new documents for other users on this server. Documents can also be forwarded to other servers (message communication between servers). The second task is to grant access to the user’s PIM for downloading, deleting or forwarding of his own messages.

Each transmission or request to the server is encrypted at the connection time, with asymmetric cryptographic algorithms, and during transmission, with symmetric cryptography using different secret level options. These security constraints are needed to ensure the confidentiality of all files and images that circulate on the Telemis system.

The authentication process is ensured such that only the persons who are in the receivers’ list will have access to a document.
